Ingredients: Spirulina (arthrospira platensis), Certified Organic, CoO: India

What is Spirulina?
A type of blue-green algae (Arthrospira platensis), spirulina is rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, carotenoids and antioxidants which can help protect cellular integrity. Cultivated worldwide as a food source, it has a spiral shape and is approximately 3.6 billion years old. Advocates of blue green algae have claimed that spirulina is so nutritionally complete that one can live on it alone and be completely healthy!
Who is it for?
This superfood can be beneficial for horses on a dry lot, horses with heaves, coughing and respiratory troubles, horses under immune stress, show horses, those exercising at high intensity and frequency, horses recovering from illness and horses with prevalent environmental and dietary allergies.
Warning: Spirulina contains high iron amounts. Use with caution (if at all) in overweight, Cushing’s or metabolic horses as iron-overload has been associated with metabolic issues, including laminitis. Studies have shown that Spirulina can reverse metabolic disease, however, we believe it is important to carefully monitor iron, copper & zinc ratios, as well as, magnesium and chromium intake for proper metabolic function and insulin levels.
