What is Boswellia Serrata?

Boswellia is a genus of trees known for their fragrant and medicinal gum resin (or sap). These medium to large sized branching trees typically grow in dry, mountainous regions throughout India, North Africa & the Middle East. The papyrus Ebers, written around 1500 BC, is the oldest written document mentioning Boswellia’s use as a medicine.

Also known as Frankincense, one of the gifts the Three Wise Men gave to baby Jesus, Boswellia has been trusted for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine & Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to treat a wide range of ailments.

Most famously trusted for inflammatory conditions, pain management, asthma / pulmonary diseases and cancer. Boswellia Serrata can also be very helpful for cellular health, organ function, digestion, diarrhea, ringworm, joint support & much more!

"Boswellia has been shown in research studies to inhibit the 5-lipoxygenase pathway, thus playing a positive role in various inflammatory diseases that are perpetuated by the production of leukotrienes." -Science Direct
