The raw ingredients are verified, carefully weighed out, blended and pressed into tablet form following strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines. Every lot of finished Protandim Nrf2 Synergizer is tested for compliance to approved specifications in addition to receiving a final quality inspection following dietary supplement regulations. Every lot must, again, meet or exceed established finished product specifications before it can be released by LifeVantage Quality Assurance.
Nrf2 is a powerful protein that is latent within each cell in the body, unable to move or operate until it is released by an Nrf2 activator. Once released it migrates into the cell nucleus and bonds to the DNA at the location of the Antioxidant Response Element (ARE) or also called hARE (Human Antioxidant Response Element) which is the master regulator of the total antioxidant system that is available in ALL human cells.
This balancing act becomes disrupted as one ages, or when the body is overcome by toxicity, malnutrition, malfunction and disease resulting in further cellular damage. This damage is known as oxidative stress and is accompanied by free radical production. Oxidative stress (and the associated free radical damage) contribute to the progression of hundreds of health conditions, aging and disease symptoms.
Direct antioxidants such as vitamin C, Vitamin E, berries and juices are often used to neutralize free radicals and prevent damage the free radicals cause. One molecule of antioxidants from these sources neutralizes one free radical, i.e. they combat free radicals on a one-to-one ratio. However, there comes a tipping point where the direct antioxidants are inadequate enough to take care of all the damage.
A more powerful approach to fighting free radicals is to use the body’s own self defense mechanism. When Nrf2 is activated inside the nucleus, it turns on the production of antioxidant enzymes such as Catalase, Glutathione Peroxidase and Superoxide Dismutase (SOD). These antioxidant enzymes are powerful enough to neutralize up to one million free radicals! This million-to-one ratio proves to be a much more effective approach in combating aging and disease conditions than the one-to-one ratio.
Why Take Antioxidants When Your Body Can Make Them?
Supports normal metabolic function
Helps body adapt to physical and mental stressors
Helps maintain normal vitality/energy
Helps support/maintain healthy immune function
Helps relieve stress and anxiety
The following is a list of diseases and/or disorders that are directly linked to high oxidative stress and, as a result, NRF2 may help improve. These only represent a fraction of the hundreds of conditions caused by an excess of free radical production:
